WELCOME 

to the exciting world of High Trumps® where strategy meets cannabis culture, and victory comes with a unique reward. In this special edition, the winner of each match will receive a grand prize in the form of a joint from any of the strains featured in the card game. Let’s dive into the rules and how you can claim your coveted prize.

OBJECTIVE

High Trumps® is a card game traditionally played between two or more people. Each card lists numerical data that players compare with the aim of 'trumping' their opponent by having a greater value. The winner gains the opponents card(s) with the game continuing until only one player holds all the cards.

​

COMPONENTS

  1. A deck of cannabis-themed cards, each with unique attributes and a collection of action cards that add a layer of intrigue and strategic depth to the game.

  2. A joint from one of the strains featured in the game.

​

SETUP

  1. Shuffle the deck of cards thoroughly and deal an equal number to each player.

  2. Make sure the joint prize is ready to be awarded to the winner.

​

GAMEPLAY
Decide who goes first through mutual agreement or by any method of your choice.


ON EACH TURN

​The active player begins by reading out an attribute such as THC (%) or Relaxed (%) and each players cards have a number rating of 1% - 100% on each attribute. The price   (ZAR) is also regarded as an attribute.


COMPARE THE ANNOUNCED ATTRIBUTE

  • The player with the highest value in the announced attribute wins the round.

  • The winner collects the cards played in that round and places them at the back of their deck.

  • If there’s a tie for the highest value, the cards remain on the center of the playing area, and a tiebreaker round occurs using the same attribute.

The winner of the previous round becomes the active player for the next round.

ACTION CARDS

Action cards introduce an element of surprise, allowing you to play them at any moment including during your opponent’s turn, to create unexpected game-changing situations.

After being played, Action Cards are placed in the center of the playing area. The victor of the following round gathers all cards from the center and becomes the active player for the next round. This adds an element of strategic anticipation to each move.

GRAND PRIZE

​The winner receives the grand prize of a joint from any of the strains featured in the card game. This creates an exciting and personalised experience, allowing the winner to enjoy a tangible reward directly related to the game’s theme.

N.B.

  • The grand prize can only be won once per game.

  • ​In case of a tie, players can engage in a final showdown round to determine the winner of the grand prize.

​
